One man was in jail and another was on the run Thursday after a drug arrest in Wake County.

<b>RALEIGH, N.C.</b> — One man was in jail and another was on the run Thursday after a drug arrest in Wake County.<br />

It was part of an ongoing drug investigation by the sheriff's office and happened off Highway 401 between Fox and New Hope roads at around 2 p.m.<br />

Jose Antonio Dania Maldonado, 24, was arrested and charged with two counts of assault on a law enforcement officer, conspiracy to traffic cocaine and possession with the intent to sell and deliver cocaine, authorities said.

The other suspect took off, but deputies were unsuccessful in finding the man. The identity of the man is not yet known.

Police say a woman was shot in the upper thigh while two men inside the home were arguing. EMS stabilized the woman and took her to ECU Health in Greenville. Both men suffered gunshot wounds during the altercation.
