FAYETTEVILLE, N.C. — Fayetteville police have obtained an arrest warrant for a suspect in the shooting death of a man outside of the Ya-Ya Food Mart on Murchison Road, spokeswoman Theresa W. Chance said Friday.

Police are looking for Michael Antoine McLaurin, 27, who is charged with first-degree murder, discharging a weapon into an occupied vehicle and possession of a firearm by a felon.

The charges stem from a shooting at the Ya-Ya Food Mart, 3122 Murchison Road, in early June 27.

Police said the owner of Ya-Ya Food Mart, Waheed Abdo Abdulla, 30, of 2770 Graham Road, went outside to break up a disturbance around 1 a.m., and gunfire erupted.

When police arrived, they found Abdulla's body lying on the floor inside the business and a second man, Demetrius Deshawn Johnson, 20, of 545 Hilliard Drive, dead in the front passenger seat of a vehicle in front of the business.

The warrant states McLaurin is wanted in the shooting death of Johnson.

McLaurin’s last known address is 628 Wilma St. He is considered armed and dangerous as he has a long criminal history involving violent felonies, Chance said.

Anyone having any information on the whereabouts of McLaurin is urged to contact Homicide Detectives at 910-433-1856 or Crime Stoppers at 910-483-8477.

Police say additional charges are pending.
