Suspect Charged in Convenience Store Shooting

A man was charged with murder Friday in connection with a fatal shooting outside a south Raleigh convenience store, police said.

RALEIGH, N.C. — A man was charged with murder Friday in connection with a fatal shooting outside a south Raleigh convenience store, police said.

Joseph Julius Dunn, 24, was shot several times outside the South Street Super Market, at 516 W. South St., at about 2 p.m. Thursday, police said. He later died at WakeMed.

Ryan Marcus Kirby, 24, was identified as a possible suspect in the case, and he was arrested at a residence in the 5900 block of Damon Court, police said.

The shooting remains under investigation.
