RALEIGH, N.C. — A nationwide tour supporting President Barack Obama's health care overhaul held rallies in Raleigh and Charlotte Thursday.

The bus tour stopped in Charlotte in the morning, and moved on to Raleigh, at the Progress Energy Performing Arts Center Plaza, for an evening rally.

The rallies are part of 2,000 nationwide being held by Organizing for America, the Obama campaign organization now melded into the national Democratic Party, which reputedly has an e-mail list of up to 13 million names.

Rep. David Price, D-4th District, is expected to speak in Raleigh, as well as representatives of the State Employees Association of North Carolina and the North Carolina Association of Community Health Centers

The rallies follow a forum in Charlotte Monday in which Sens. Richard Burr, John McCain and Mitch McConnell criticized the Democratic-backed proposals in Congress.
