Support key to breastfeeding success say moms at MilkFest 2012

I caught up with local moms at Saturday's MilkFest 2012 to find out what they've learned while breastfeeding their babies.

Moms came out Saturday to MilkFest 2012 at The Family Nest in Morrisville to participate in The Big Latch On, part of an international effort to set a world's record for the largest number of moms breastfeeding at the same time.
I served as a judge during the event, which also included a variety of groups and businesses that cater to moms. I had a great time meeting lots of moms and many Go Ask Mom readers! Read all about the event on the Facebook page.

As Go Ask Mom readers know, I feature local moms every Monday. And I thought I'd talk to the moms at Saturday's event about their breastfeeding experience. I wanted to know if there was one thing they wish somebody told them about breastfeeding before they started or if there was one thing that they've learned since they started.

Watch the video to hear from the moms I spoke with about their experience. As a nursing mom myself, I wasn't surprised that there is an overriding theme here: It can be tough in the beginning, but with the right support, a breastfeeding mom can succeed.

Of course, if you need support, please check Go Ask Mom's breastfeeding resources page.
