Sunset Slush opens for season in north Raleigh, offers special activities for families Monday

The seller of Italian ice made with real fruit, hand scooped ice cream and fresh baked cookies has set up shop at Pinecrest Pointe Shopping Center.

Sunset Slush North Raleigh will reopen its shop for the summer season on Monday and is planning a celebration to mark the occasion.

The seller of Italian ice made with real fruit, hand scooped ice cream and fresh baked cookies has set up shop at Pinecrest Pointe Shopping Center, 9101 Leesville Rd., Suite 121, in Raleigh.

Monday's grand opening celebration starts at 11 a.m. and includes some in-store specials and samples; demonstrations from Mad Science, which offers science-themed camps, programs and parties, from 3 p.m. to 6 p.m.; and face painting and balloon art from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. They'll have a raffle contest and a deal for buy one, get one on select ice cream. 

Sounds like a fun way to kick off the month of July. 

Sunset Slush also has a private party room for birthday parties and special events. Packages include ice cream or Italian ice, along with programs from Mad Science. Sunset Slush also offers party packages at your home.

The shop's hours are 11 a.m. to 9 p.m., Monday through Thursday; 11 a.m. to 10 p.m., Friday and Saturday; and noon to 8 p.m., Sunday.
