Students unharmed as school bus catches fire
A Sampson County school bus caught fire Monday afternoon, but 25 students on board were able to escape unharmed, authorities said.

The bus was taking students home from Union Elementary School at about 3:25 p.m. Monday when the fire started on Edmond Mathis Road, said Trooper Greg Steffens of the state Highway Patrol.
The bus driver, Julie Lamb, and a couple of passing drivers helped get all of the students off the bus, and Lamb ran back into the burning bus to ensure no students were under the seats, Steffens said.
No injuries were reported.
During the fire, the fuel cells on the bus detonated, causing several explosions, authorities said.
