RALEIGH, N.C. — A photograph taken by a student shows more racist graffiti painted inside North Carolina State University’s Free Expression Tunnel.

The graffiti included an image of a swastika and racial slurs. It has since been painted over white.

Campus police said they had gotten a report of graffiti in the tunnel.

The tunnel has been the center of controversy since four N.C. State students admitted to spraypainting racist graffiti in it the night President Barack Obama was elected.

The state chapter of the National Association for the Advancement of Colored People called for the students to be expelled, but N.C. State officials said there were no grounds for expulsion. The Wake County District Attorney's Office determined the incident was not a hate crime.
