It looks like the Triangle will enjoy an ice day Tuesday, thanks to miserable weather across the region and beyond.
That means many of us will be cooped up with kids, who are really hoping to wake up to a pile of actual snow. Probably not this time.
If you're looking for some ideas to get the kids away from the screens or to answer their complaints of "I'm bored," here are some options to keep you all busy for a bit on Tuesday. Have fun!
Easy at-home experiments: Thanks to long-time science educator and Raleigh mom Beth Harris, the Museum of Life and Science and the N.C. Science Festival, we have some fun and very easy experiments that you can do at home with your kids. These typically take common household items and not a lot of time.
Eighteen indoor activities: From making play dough to holding a bubble wrap stomp party, Marbles Kids Museum shared these fun indoor activities for kids last year when we were looking at a lot of snow days. I particularly love the Finger Olympics one.
Get Crafty: Check out pasts posts about bubble science, suncatcher rainbows and turkey baster activities.
Start Writing: I wrote about two writing contests - one for grade schoolers and another for high schoolers. There's still plenty of time to put it all down on paper.
Start Drawing: The Museum of Life and Science is looking for drawings of dinosaurs for its dinosaur illustration contest.
