Lightning strikes, flooding reported in north Raleigh
Lightning strikes were reported in north Raleigh Tuesday night as a cold front brought thunderstorms to Wake County.

Flooding was reported at Lynn Road and Glenwood Avenue, Ray Road and Evans Mill Road and on the 8000 block of Glenwood Avenue, Wake County emergency dispatchers said.
Wind gusts were anticipated to reach up to 40 mph during the storms, but severe weather warnings were not expected, WRAL meteorologist Mike Maze said.
The showers were expected to move out of the area by midnight, but there is the possibility of light rain for the Wednesday morning and afternoon commutes, Maze said.
The cold front will bring temperatures down to the mid-60s Wednesday and Thursday, about 10 degrees below normal.
