Two people shot in Roanoke Rapids

Two people were shot Tuesday night in Roanoke Rapids.

According to the Roanoke Rapids Police Department, the shooting occurred around 9:50 p.m. on Madison Street between West 1st and Person streets.

One person was shot in the back, and the other was shot in the arm.

Both were transported to ECU North in Greenville.

No information was provided about a suspect.
