'Taste of Raleigh' a success with hundreds enjoying food and entertainment
The 2nd annual Taste of Raleigh brought out hundreds for a community event Saturday afternoon.
This free event had over 20 food trucks, various vendors and live entertainment for people to enjoy.
"This event is really amazing," said Jessica Branch, eventgoer. "I love food and music, so I knew this was the perfect place to be."
Chuck Johnson, the owner of WRSV Choice FM 92.1, said that their mission is to bring the community together and have fun. To achieve this goal, they partnered with several other organizers to host an event.
"I hope they leave full, I hope they leave satisfied, and I hope they leave having a lot of fun," said Johnson. "This really is an event that we put together for families. We like to call it a baby stroller event. We got good music, a lot of good people, and really good food and drink."
The event was a showcase for local musical talent, with live performances from The New Band on the Block, Rohan Da Great, The Mack Band, and special guest Slim from R&B group 112.
A portion of the money made at the event goes to a fund that helps pay for kids' lunches in public schools.
