School bus crash outside of Dillard Drive Middle is 2nd in 5 months

A school bus and a car were involved in a crash near Dillard Drive Middle School on Thursday afternoon. Raleigh police said no one on the bus or in the car was injured.

Police: Bus driver failed to stop before crash

A school bus and a car were involved in a crash near Dillard Drive Middle School on in Raleigh on Thursday afternoon.

The school told parents in a phone message that some students were being evaluated for minor injuries. Raleigh police later said no one on the bus or in the car was injured.

Raleigh police said the school bus driver failed to stop while pulling out of the school parking lot. The car then crashed into the back of the bus.

Sky 5 video showed the front end of a sedan and the back end of the school bus damaged outside of the school, which is at 5200 Dillard Drive.

Both lanes of Dillard Drive were closed while crews worked to remove the car, the bus and debris.

In November, another school bus was involved in a crash outside of the school.

A man driving a Mini Cooper said he had just finished dropping his child off at the school when the school bus pulled out and hit him.

The man said the bus driver didn't see his car because another bus was pulling into the school as the bus driver was pulling out.

The school bus had front-end damage, and the Mini Cooper's front and side were damaged.
