Hit-and-run driver kills pedestrian on Louisburg Road

Raleigh police are investigating after a pedestrian was hit and killed on Louisburg Road.

Police were on the scene around 2:30 a.m. between New Hope Road and Dancey Drive.

Officials say Jamel Williams, 33, was crossing Louisburg Road on foot near the intersection when he was struck by a car.

Police say the driver left the scene.

This is an active investigation. WRAL News is working to learn if any charges are pending.
