North Carolina State Fair saw record-breaking attendance

Despite having a late start due to Hurricane Michael, the North Carolina State fair had two days of record breaking attendance and broke a 10-day attendance record.

Despite having a late start due to Hurricane Michael, the North Carolina State Fair had two days of record-breaking attendance and broke the 10-day attendance record.

On Oct. 19, the second Friday of the fair, 109,396 people visited the fair. This number breaks the 105,073 mark for that day from 2010.

On Sunday, the last day of the fair, 130,319 people visited the fair in another record-breaking day. The previous record for the last day of the fair was 116,041 people, set in 2016.

In total, 977,256 people visited the fair this year. This number breaks the previous 10-day attendance record of 858,611, set in 2007.

In 2008, the fair added a day - making an 11-day run.
