The James Beard Foundation announced its 2024 Media Awards nominees on Tuesday and a Triangle culinary legend is included.

Ed Mitchell is featured in Ed Mitchell's Barbecue. Ed Mitchell, Ryan Mitchell and Zella Palmer are listed as contributors for the book, which has a 4.8 average rating on Amazon. The entry is a nominee in the U.S. Foodways category to recognize books with recipes focused on the cooking or foodways of regions or communities located within the U.S.
