Detectives working on the Semar Barbour homicide case have uncovered new leads and identified potential persons of interest, but they withhold specific details at this investigation stage.

Durham police have made a fifth arrest in connection to an October 2023 murder of 19-year-old man.

Police arrested Yakir Ben-Zion Lee, 19, of Durham. He is charged with conspiracy to commit murder in connection to the Oct. 23, 2023, shooting of Semar Barbour, who was 19.

Authorities are holding Lee on a $50,000 secured bond at the Durham County Jail.

Last week, police announced arrests and charges for four other people in connection to the shooting: Phillip Williams Jr., Nakia Williams, Theodore Cash and Shelia Cash.
