Fayetteville is a great option for a weekend getaway.

Whether you're planning a staycation or a road trip to Fayetteville, here are five fun ways to spend a weekend in Fayetteville.

1. Head to a coffee shop

What better way to start your day? Get your caffeine fix at Personal Best and enjoy a delicious pastry at The Sweet Palette bakery, which is attached to the downtown coffee shop.

Head over to one of these trendy and eccentric coffee shops to start your day off right.

2. Go hiking

Fayetteville is home to several gorgeous hiking trails.

Lace up your hiking boots and take in the scenic views of the Cape Fear River or Carvers Creek.

3. Go to a museum

There are plenty of fun and educational museums in Fayetteville. The most notable museum is probably the Airborne and Special Operations Museum.

Take your kids to the Fascinate-U Children's Museum for a fun, family-filled day.

4. Eat and drink

There are plenty of restaurants in Fayetteville for fellow foodies to enjoy.

Head over to Circa 1800 or Blue Moon Cafe for brunch. For plant-based vegan options, you can go to Vibe Gastropub.

For lunch, you can grab a sandwich at Pan or a beer at Gaston Brewing Company.

Those who enjoy Italian cuisine can go to Pierro's Italian Bistro or Antonella's Italian Ristorante for a delicious dinner. If you prefer something more casual, you can grab a burger and beer at Archway Burgers, Dogs and Beer.

On a warm spring day, you can head over to Dirtbag Ales Brewery & Taproom. Bring your dogs, and the kids can on the playground.

5. Go to a Woodpeckers game

The Woodpeckers, Fayetteville's Minor League Baseball team, kicks off their season in April.

Walk around downtown then head over to Segra Stadium for a baseball game. You can walk over to Healy’s Right Field Bar to grab a beer and watch the game.
