It's coming up quickly - and some ticket options have sold out - but the N.C. Transportation Museum in Spencer will host its annual visit with Thomas the Tank Engine during the next couple of weekends.

Day Out with Thomas will be at the museum, about two hours from Raleigh, this Friday, Saturday and Sunday and Sept. 30 to Oct. 2. This very popular event includes a chance to take a ride with Thomas and Percy; meet Sir Topham Hatt; and take part in other Thomas-themed activities.

Tickets range in price between $20 and $32, depending on what days you ride the train and what activities you take part in. There's even an option to have a pancake breakfast with Sir Topham Hatt. Tickets are required for everybody ages 2 and up.

Day Out with Thomas is generally best for preschoolers to young grade schoolers. It's best to get your tickets in advance before you go.

The museum's website has more information and ticket details.
