Spring Lake Hires Town Manager

A colonel in the Army Reserves has been named town manager for Spring Lake.

SPRING LAKE, N.C. — A colonel in the Army Reserves has been named town manager for Spring Lake.

The Board of Aldermen unanimously voted Monday to hire Edward "Larry" Faison, 47, to oversee municipal operations.

Faison, who has 27 years of military experience, is the town manager in Swansboro. He replaces Hal Hegwer, who left Spring Lake in June to become city manager in Sanford.

Faison will start work in Spring Lake on Oct. 1. He will earn $84,500 a year.
