The coaching genius of Bill Belichick has peaked at an all-time high. NFL commissioner Roger Goodell is considering severe sanctions on the New England Patriots for videotaping defensive signals from the New York Jets coaches.
I have a hard time believing that a control freak like Belichick didn’t know anything about this blatant breach of the rules. The NFL has no choice but to make the Pats the example of examples. Behavior like this should not be tolerated, period. I’m talking draft picks, probation and a seven-to eight-figure fine.
Who knows how the NFL will deal with this? But this poses an interesting question.
Remember those three Super Bowl championships in four years? Makes you think how many of those wins were on the up and up.
All that being said, I guess if you know what the other team is doing … that makes you a genius.
Or a cheater.
