Speed, rain may have contributed to deadly crash on I-440 in Raleigh at Lake Boone Trail exit
A driver died early Tuesday morning when a pickup truck slid off the road on Interstate 440 westbound at Lake Boone Trail.

RALEIGH, N.C. — An Apex man died early Tuesday morning when his pickup truck slid off the road on Interstate 440 westbound at Lake Boone Trail.
Aaron Eugene Cummings was the only person in the vehicle.
The crash occurred in front of Exit 5 before 5:15 a.m, closing the right lane.
It was raining at the time of the crash, and police said Cummings was traveling "at a high rate of speed."
