Son, 3 others linked to Myrtle Beach slaying of Durham couple

A Durham couple was shot to death at a Myrtle Beach hotel Friday night, and one of the two suspects arrested is the couple's son, according to WBTW News 13.

MYRTLE BEACH, S.C. — Alexander Gray Turner, the son of a Durham couple killed at a Myrtle Beach hotel Friday night, was among four young people arrested in connection with their murders.
Police found Carrie Daley Turner, 52, and Steven Gray Turner, 61, shot inside their room at the Landmark Resort, at 1501 Ocean Blvd. A search of property tax records shows the elder Turners were residents of 6 Maere Court in Durham.

According to the affidavit for his arrest, their son, 23, who had been living in Conway, S.C., tried to extend his parents' reservation for room 1208, but when his request was denied, he and a companion left the property.

Shortly afterward, the bodies of his parents were found in the room.

Police said Alexander Turner was using both a credit card and a Kia Optima belonging to his parents as investigators were processing the crime scene.

He was charged with two counts of murder and a count of possession of a weapon during a violent crime and was being held without bond. Chelsi Leila Griffin, 19, also of Conway, was also charged with murder.
Both had a first appearance on the charges set for 4 p.m. Monday.

Two others, Grant Anthony Dollens, of Columbia, S.C., and Roxanna Lisa Cumpan, of Pottsown, Pa., wre charged with accessory after the fact.
