Some sprinkles possible Monday before mild weather returns

RALEIGH, N.C. — With daily high temperatures at or above 60 degrees, the second week of December has a decidedly delightful forecast.

Monday is the only day this week with the potential for rain, and even that day won't be a total washout. There is a chance of patchy sprinkles ahead of an upper level disturbance Monday morning, with rain chances highest east and southeast of the Triangle area, especially along or east of about the I-95 corridor, WRAL meteorologist Elizabeth Gardner said.

After that, the sun returns and temperatures climb through the work week. By the weekend, temperatures could again reach the 70-degree mark.
