RALEIGH, N.C. — First-quarter report cards for Wake County elementary schools continue to be delayed, and officials said Monday they hope to issue them Thanksgiving week.

Traditional-calendar students were initially supposed to get report cards on Oct. 28, then officials pushed that date back to Tuesday. Now, officials have set a third target date of Nov. 25.

Administrators blamed the repeated delays on "an ongoing statewide software issue," saying the issue is statewide and that the vendor is working with the Department of Public Instruction to resolve the issue.

"Once the system is restored, teachers will be able to continue to enter first-quarter grades, and schools will be able to print report cards," according to a message on the Wake County Public School System website.
