RALEIGH, N.C. — Multiple law enforcement agencies are investigating a white powder found in a piece of mail at the Social Security Administration Tuesday morning.

An employee called Raleigh police about 8:30 a.m. upon discovering the substance. Emergency officials evacuated the building, at 4701 Old Wake Forest Road.

There were no reports of injury, and there were no customers inside at the time, police spokesman Jim Sughrue said.

He declined to comment further on the matter, saying it was still under investigation.
