Sneaking another cookie? Healthy Moms to provide fitness tips
I checked back in with MaryBeth Winstead of Healthy Moms. She'll be sharing some fitness tips over the next couple of weeks.
Posted — UpdatedShe's an energetic mom of two who, for years, has been helping other moms and moms-to-be get fit through all kinds of fitness programs across the Triangle. The classes turn into support groups, of a kind, where women share tips and advice as they chat with others about the ups and downs of pregnancy and parenthood.
And, as I consider another Christmas cookie at the same time that I bake yet another batch, I thought that perhaps some exercise tips might be in order for me and, possibly, some Go Ask Mom readers too.
So I checked back in with Winstead at Fitness Connection in North Hills where one of her AquaMoms classes for expecting moms is held. The low-impact workout is designed for pregnant women.
Winstead tells me the program uses the properties of water for resistance, giving moms a really good workout. The exercise helps eliminate swelling and has a huge benefit for those suffering from insomnia during pregnancy.
"They've been known to sleep really well" after a workout, she said.
And check back on Wednesday for a quick fitness tip.
