Smithfield police are asking for the public's help to identify a man who broke into a Kay Jewelers store at the Carolina Premium Outlets. 

<b>SMITHFIELD, N.C.</b> — Smithfield police are asking for the public's help to identify a man who broke into a Kay Jewelers store at the Carolina Premium Outlets.

Investigators say the break-in happened at about 4:30 a.m. on Aug. 12. In surveillance photos released Wednesday, a man wearing a long-sleeve jacket, shorts and white shoes is seen walking through the store.

A white van was also seen outside the jewelry store, which is at 1025 Outlet Center Drive. Authorities said nothing was taken.

Anyone who can help police identify the man should call the Smithfield Police Department tip line at 919-989-8835.
