Smithfield police searching for GameStop robbers

Police are searching for six men who robbed a GameStop in Smithfield days before Christmas.

SMITHFIELD, N.C. — Police are searching for six men who robbed a GameStop in Smithfield days before Christmas.
Police said Friday they were dispatched to the store on North Brightleaf Boulevard at about 9:45 p.m. on Dec. 21 for a report of an armed robbery. Store employees told police they were held at gunpoint by the men, who stole cash, gaming systems, video games and the employees’ personal property. No one was injured.

Security video captured the image of one of the suspects, described as black, 5 feet 9 inches tall, weighing about 170 pounds with a goatee. He was wearing a gray sweatshirt, gray hat and scarf.
