Missing Wendell man found safe after Silver Alert issued

A Silver Alert was issued early Tuesday morning for a Wendell man who was last seen leaving his home.

WENDELL, N.C.UPDATE: A man at the center of a Silver Alert on Tuesday was found safe, officials said.

The Wake County Sheriff's Office said 75-year-old Cornelius Herbert Yorker was found safe after disappearing Monday night.

A Silver Alert was issued early Tuesday morning for a Wendell man who was last seen leaving his home.

Cornelius Herbert Yorker, 75, is a black man who is 5 feet, 4 inches tall and weighs 155 pounds. He has short, gray hair and brown eyes.

Officials said Yorker was last seen around 8:30 p.m. on Monday walking away from his home at 7510 Linnet Road. He was wearing a dark blue shirt and black pants.

Authorities said Yorker suffers from Alzheimer's disease and dementia.
