RALEIGH, N.C. — The North Carolina Center for Missing Persons issued a Silver Alert Thursday for a Raleigh teenager.

Joseph Cone is white with short brown hair and brown eyes. He is 5 feet 10 inches tall and weighs 165 pounds. He was last seen on Worth Street in Raleigh wearing blue pants and a blue ROTC jacket.

Anyone with information about Cone should call the Raleigh Police Department at 919-710-4108.

Developed in 2007, Silver Alert is a system to quickly notify the public about missing endangered people who suffer from dementia or other cognitive impairments, such as Alzheimer's disease.

It also allows caregivers and nursing homes to report a person missing. In the past, only a family member could report an adult missing.
