Silver Alert for Raleigh man, 29, canceled
A Silver Alert issued last month for a 29-year-old Raleigh man with a cognitive impairment was canceled Tuesday, authorities said.
Posted — UpdatedRaleigh police requested the alert for Anthony Frenshawn Allen on Oct. 12. Allen hadn't been seen by family members since Oct. 2.
It wasn't immediately clear why the alert was canceled.
Developed in 2007, Silver Alert is a system to quickly notify the public about missing endangered adults who suffer from dementia or other cognitive impairments, such as Alzheimer's disease.
It also allows caregivers and nursing homes to report a person missing. In the past, only a family member could report an adult missing.
