<b>RALEIGH, N.C.</b> — Raleigh police canceled a Silver Alert Monday for a missing 50-year-old man who disappeared Thursday night.

The alert was issued Friday for Henry Dumpsonm who went missing from a home at 7320 Bentley Wood Lane in Raleigh.

Police did not release any additional information.

Developed in 2007, the Silver Alert system quickly notifies the public about missing endangered adults who suffer from dementia or other cognitive impairments, such as Alzheimer's disease.

It also allows caregivers and nursing homes to report a person missing. In the past, only a family member could report an adult missing.

According to the Danville Police Department, officers received a tip of prior animal abuse at a pet grooming store on Hairston Street in Danville. In the complaint, a video showed the employee, identified as 22-year-old Cassidy Gill, striking a dog in January and February. The video in the complaint was shared with other social media accounts, including PETA.
