Shuttles serve fair from three locations in Raleigh, Cary

Start your trip to the N.C. State Fair with a thrifty shuttle bus ride from downtown Raleigh, Capital Boulevard or Cary Towne Center to avoid the traffic and parking hassles.

GoRaleigh offers non-stop shuttle service from two park-and-ride locations and service from downtown Raleigh along Hillsborough Street during the fair, which will be held Oct. 15-25.

The shuttles drop off and pick up passengers from Gate 1 at the State Fairgrounds.

A round trip costs $4 for adults, $2 for those 65 and older o with disabilities. Children under 40 inches tall ride free with a paying passenger.

Shuttle passes are available for sale at each park-and-ride location. Riders on the Hillsborough Street route must have exact change.

GoPasses and prepaid GoRaleigh passes are not valid on State Fair shuttle routes.

Stops are located at designated points along Hillsborough Street. Look for the special blue State Fair signs.

Free parking will be available on Saturday and Sunday during the fair in the state government parking lots bounded by Edenton, Wilmington, Jones and Blount streets.

The shuttle departs 1920 Capital Blvd. (behind Greyhound, adjacent to Bobby Murray Chevrolet) approximately every 30 minutes from 8:30 a.m. to midnight daily during the fair, except on Oct. 15 when it will run from 2:30 p.m. to midnight;

The shuttle departs the mall parking lot outside Sears approximately every 30 minutes from 8:30 a.m. to midnight daily during the fair, except on Oct. 15 when it will run from 2:30 p.m. to midnight.
