Shaw University elects new BOT chair
Shaw University announced on Wednesday afternoon that Joseph N. Bell, Jr. was elected as chairman of its Board of Trustees.

Bell, a Shaw alumnus, currently serves as the vice-chairman of the board and holds several board positions, including vice-chairman of the executive committee, chairman of the fiscal affairs committee and chairman of the trusteeship committee.
Bell will succeed Willie E. Gary, who was re-elected as a board member Wednesday.
Shaw also announced that Lorenzo Williams was elected as vice-chairman and H. Donell Lewis was elected secretary. Each officer on the board will serve a two-year term beginning July 1.
