Sexual assault reported in Fayetteville
A sexual assault was reported on Old Wilmington Road on Friday, investigators said Monday.

A woman told police she was walking in the downtown area when she received a ride from an unknown male. The man drove the woman to an area off Old Wilmington Road, sexually assaulted the woman, then forced her out of his vehicle at gunpoint and left, police said.
Authorities did not say if the woman was sexually assaulted at gunpoint.
The woman was unable to provide a detailed description of the suspect or his vehicle to investigators.
