Sex offender charged with older alleged crimes
A convicted sex offender on probation has been charged with crimes in Raleigh dating back eight years ago, according to arrest warrants.
Posted — UpdatedKenneth Anthony Battle, 40, of 113 Creech Road in Garner, was charged by Raleigh police Friday with two counts of first-degree sex offense with a child and one count of indecent liberties with a child. He was placed in the Wake County jail under a $1 million bond.
Warrants stated that the alleged crimes involved a child younger than 13 and happened between 2004 and 2007.
Battle was convicted in July 2011 of indecent liberties with a child and sentenced to 36 months' probation, according to state Division of Adult Correction records.
The offense involved a 12-year-old child and happened in Durham County on July 31, 2010, records from the North Carolina Sex Offenders Registry show.
