RALEIGH, N.C. — A convicted sex offender on probation has been charged with crimes in Raleigh dating back eight years ago, according to arrest warrants.

Kenneth Anthony Battle, 40, of 113 Creech Road in Garner, was charged by Raleigh police Friday with two counts of first-degree sex offense with a child and one count of indecent liberties with a child. He was placed in the Wake County jail under a $1 million bond.

Warrants stated that the alleged crimes involved a child younger than 13 and happened between 2004 and 2007.

Battle was convicted in July 2011 of indecent liberties with a child and sentenced to 36 months' probation, according to state Division of Adult Correction records.

The offense involved a 12-year-old child and happened in Durham County on July 31, 2010, records from the North Carolina Sex Offenders Registry show.
