RALEIGH, N.C. — Seven people were arrested Friday morning during a raid at an illegal nightclub in Raleigh.

Alcohol Law Enforcement agents and Raleigh police officers raided the Luc Lounge, at 2414 Paula Street, after an investigation alleging the business was selling alcoholic beverages without an ABC permit.

On July 13, the permits at the business were canceled after authorities found the business disobeying policies. The establishment remained open and continued selling alcoholic drinks.

Randall Rhom, 40, and Sheldon Gunnell, 34, were charged with selling and possessing for sale alcoholic beverages without an ABC permit. An employee acting as a security guard was charged with carrying a firearm unlicensed while engaging in security activities.

Four additional people were charged with misdemeanor drug charges and outstanding warrants.

Authorities seized a handgun, more than $20,000 and about 500 liters of liquor and beer from the establishment.
