Second driver dies after DWI wreck

A Virginia woman has died from injuries suffered in a head-on collision two weeks ago, police said.

RALEIGH, N.C. — A Virginia woman has died from injuries suffered in a head-on collision two weeks ago, police said.

A Toyota driven by Jennifer Faye Burnette, 38, of Norfolk, Va., collided head-on with an Infiniti driven by Judylynn Jean Zamber on Capital Boulevard near the Wakefield Development on Oct. 26, police said.

Burnette turned left from Common Oaks Drive onto Capital Boulevard and was driving north in the southbound lanes when the wreck occurred, police said.

Burnette died last Tuesday, and Zamber, 32, of Raleigh, died on Oct. 29.

Burnette had been charged with driving while impaired and two counts of assault with a deadly weapon, police said.
