DURHAM, N.C. — Police arrested a second man Wednesday in connection with a fatal shooting at a local apartment complex a week ago.

Justin Anthony Parker, 18, of Kilmer Terrace, was charged with murder in the death of 25-year-old Randolph Ladarius James.

James, 25, of Glasson Street, was found shot in the parking lot of the Oakley Square apartment complex, at 1835 Cheek Road, early on Aug. 1. He died at Duke University Hospital.

Kenyon Akeem Deloatch, 24, of James Street, was arrested Friday and charged with murder in James' death.

Witnesses told officers they had heard loud voices followed by the sound of gunshots. Police said they believe several people were involved in the altercation, and they are seeking more information in the case.

Police were expected to go door to door Wednesday at the apartment complex as to search for possible leads. The canvass is part of the Project Safe Neighborhoods Community Response.
