Sculpture missing from Chapel Hill Museum
The orange sculpture was reported missing this week but was last seen around July 8.
Posted — UpdatedThe orange sculpture, entitled "Landing," was initially noticed to be gone around July 8, but it wasn't reported missing until Wednesday, the town's public art coordinator, Steve Wright, said.
The 6-foot-tall by 5-foot-wide orange urethane sculpture of a girl jumping is valued at $16,000 and was on lease from the artist, Cecilia Lueza, of St. Petersburg, Fla.

The Chapel Hill Museum, which opened in 1996, closed earlier this month because of financial issues.
