Scouts collect bikes for less fortunate

All bikes will be given to Fayetteville's Bicycleman Community Outreach Project.

A Girl Scout troop from Fayetteville spent their Saturday collecting bicycles for less fortunate youngsters.

The girls of Troop 1332 spread the word to schoolmates, neighbors and families, then set up shop at Stoney Point Elementary School to accept donations. They got over 50 bikes, and they plan to hold more donation drop-offs through the holiday season.

All bikes will be given to Fayetteville's Bicycle Man Community Outreach Project, and the girls will participate in the Bicycle Man's annual distribution Dec. 21.
