CARY, N.C. — Enjoy ice cream and help the troops in downtown Cary on Saturday.
It is the second annual Scoops for the Troops.

From 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. at the Downtown Performance Green on the corner of Academy and Kildaire Farm Road, there will be ice cream eating contests, games, entertainment, military vehicles and displays.

To enter the ice cream eating contest email sarah.hagan@townofcary.org or you can sign up at the information tent at the event.

Help the USO by bringing nonperishable supplies - tooth brushes, paper towels, paper plates, disposable cutlery, hard candy and toothpaste. Also, bring expired coupons, service members can still use them overseas.

And if you make some great ice cream, you can even enter to have your flavor featured by Lumpy's. Get more info and an entry form on the event website. Scoop for the Troops runs from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m.
