CHATHAM COUNTY, N.C. — Authorities were searching Thursday for a 21-year-old man wanted in the murder of Esau Abraham Brenes, 25, of Siler City.

Francisco Rivas Galves-Huezo was charged with first-degree murder and robbery with a dangerous weapon in the death of Brenes, who was reported missing on Oct. 4.

Brenes was last seen dropping off friends in his green Mini Cooper in Siler City, according to family members. His body was found Saturday near the edge of the wood line on Siler City Snow Camp Road, just outside the city limit, authorities said.

His family described him as a hard working and kind man.

"A young man that does not know how to say no," said Gus Salinas, Brenes' stepfather. "He was always willing to help. He was not the type to hang around on the street corner with thugs or gangs or things like that. It is a great loss."

Galves-Huezo was reported missing on Oct. 24 and his current whereabouts are unknown. Anyone with information about where he is asked to call authorities.

The ongoing investigation is a joint effort conducted by the Siler City Police Department, Chatham County Sheriff's Office and the State Bureau of Investigation.
