Save-A-Lot store opens in Durham on 9/27

The new Save-A-Lot store in Durham is opening on Thursday, September 27. The store opens at 8:00 AM with a ribbon-cutting at 2:00 pm. At this time, there are no in-store specials planned for the event, but the Communications Manager did mention that there may be some store samples.

Homes that are within a 2 to 3 mile radius of the new store should receive a coupon for $5 off a $25 purchase. You can also print off a similar coupon from their Facebook page. You can find the link to the coupon on their website HERE.

If you join their Smart Shopper Club, you will receive an e-mail with the sales as well as additional promotions.

Coupon policy: Save-A-Lot does accept coupons for the national brands that they carry. They do not double coupons. Keep in mind that 80% of their products are private label brands and there are no manufacturer coupons available for those products.

History: In business since 1977, there are now over 1300 store nationwide. The closest store (other than the one in Durham) is in Dunn. According to Chon Tomlin, External Communications Manager, Save-A-Lot tries to offer all the basics for families with not a lot of extras. They have a smaller footprint including bringing in fresh baked goods instead of baking them in-store.
