Sanford man accused of exposing himself to woman, child

Sanford police say a 22-year-old man exposed himself to a woman and a child under the age of 16 at The Salvation Army on Tuesday and tried to touch the woman as she left.

SANFORD, N.C. — Sanford police say a 22-year-old man exposed himself to a woman and a child under the age of 16 at The Salvation Army on Tuesday and tried to touch the woman as she left.

Police say Aaron Eugene Chambers, of 802 N. Scarlet Lane, then got into a physical fight with a magistrate after he was arrested and injured the magistrate's legs.

Chambers was being held in the Lee County jail under a $100,000 secured bond.

He is charged with one count of felony indecent exposure to a person under the age of 16, one count of misdemeanor indecent exposure, one count of misdemeanor sexual battery and one count of felony assault on an executive, legislative or court officer inflicting serious injury.
