RALEIGH, N.C. — Saturday was a great day to be outside and help a good cause all at the same time.

About 2,100 runners and walkers turned out for the Jingle Bell Run at St. Mary's School in Raleigh. They wore bells on their shoes and all sorts of Christmas gear to get into the mood.

WRAL's Debra Morgan was the emcee.

The event raised more than $110,000 for the Arthritis Foundation.

Arthritis is the leading cause of disability in the US. It affects nearly 50 million people, including 300,000 children.
