Rocky Mount police seek to ID man in armed bank robbery

Rocky Mount police are seeking the public's help in identifying a man shown on surveillance tape robbing a bank Wednesday afternoon.

ROCKY MOUNT, N.C. — Rocky Mount police are seeking the public's help in identifying a man shown on surveillance tape robbing a bank Wednesday afternoon.

The man walked up to the counter in the BB&T branch at 1114 Benvenue Road around 1:40 p.m, police said. He displayed a firearm and demanded money.

The man was wearing a black coat, blue jeans, white shirt and black hat with "D.C." on the front.

Anyone who can identify the man should call Rocky Mount police at 252-972-1411 or Crime Stoppers at 252-977-1111. Crime Stoppers pays cash rewards for information leading to arrests in certain felony cases, and callers never have to identify themselves.
