Rocky Mount police seek clues in 35-year-old man's shooting death

Rocky Mount police are asking for the public's help to learn more about a fatal shooting that happened late Wednesday on South Pearl Street.

ROCKY MOUNT, N.C. — Rocky Mount police are asking for the public's help to learn more about a fatal shooting that happened late Wednesday on South Pearl Street.

Officers responding to a report of gunshots in the 500 block of South Pearl Street shortly before midnight found Antonio Bullock, a 35-year-old man who had been shot while riding in a car.

Bullock, of Rocky Mount, was pronounced dead at the scene. The driver of the car was not hurt. Witnesses told investigators that the gunshots could have been fired from a small, light-colored car which was seen in the area.

Authorities were initially alerted to the gunfire by Shot Spotter, an acoustic surveillance system for gunfire and explosive events.
