Rockingham man gets 10 years in prison for crack sales

A judge sentenced a Rockingham man to 10 years in federal prison for selling crack, Moore County Sheriff Lane Carter announced Tuesday.

A judge sentenced a Rockingham man to 10 years in federal prison for selling crack, Moore County Sheriff Lane Carter announced Tuesday.

Moore County deputies seized approximately 113 grams of crack cocaine, with an estimated street value of $9,100, during an investigation during the summer of 2008 in Jackson Springs. They charged Marcus Allen Rush, 23, of 991 Ledbetter Road, with possession of crack cocaine with intent to distribute.

Rush pleaded guilty to the charges on May 14. After his prison sentence is complete, Rush is subject to five years of supervised release.
